Abstract

In the context of globalization processes and digitalization, the problem of finding effective pedagogical tools for the development of speech activity of schoolchildren is of particular importance. That is why the article investigates the didactic potential of creative writing and storytelling as innovative technologies for the formation of speech competence of primary school students. The purpose of the study is to theoretically substantiate and practically describe the effectiveness of using creative writing and storytelling as innovative tools for developing the speech competence of primary school students. In modern conditions of digitalization and globalization, language education in Ukraine requires a transition from reproductive assimilation of knowledge to the development of integrated students' ability to communicate effectively in various communicative situations. This actualizes the search for methods that combine cognitive, emotional and cultural components of learning. The research methods include the analysis of scientific sources, pedagogical observation and testing of exercises. The methodological basis is formed by competency-based, activity-based, text-centric and linguo-cultural approaches. The work takes into account the psychological and pedagogical characteristics of primary school students, which made it possible to adapt exercises in creative writing and storytelling to their level of language preparation. The results of the study showed that the systematic implementation of creative writing and storytelling contributes to the development of speech creativity, enrichment of active vocabulary, formation of discursive competence and increased motivation of students to study the Ukrainian language. Students involved in creating their own texts of various genres demonstrate an increase in the ability to express themselves, reasoned presentation of thoughts and interpretation of text information. The practical significance of the work lies in the development of exercises that ensure the gradual formation of speech skills - from the reproductive to the creative level. The conclusions confirm that creative writing and storytelling are effective pedagogical tools that meet the modern requirements of the New Ukrainian School. Their use ensures the active nature of learning, activates the cognitive and communicative activity of students, contributes to the formation of an individual speech style and the development of speech culture. Further research should be aimed at creating a holistic system of exercises, methodologically sound lesson models, and determining the optimal conditions for integrating these innovative practices into curricula.
