Developing Managerial Competence in Future Masters of Military Management through Simulation Modeling: Research Results

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to provide a theoretical substantiation and generalization of the results of the study on the development of managerial competence of future Masters of Military Management through simulation modeling, as well as to develop practical recommendations for its effective implementation in the educational process of higher military educational institutions. The study employed a set of complementary methods, including theoretical methods (analysis and generalization of scientific sources, modeling) and empirical methods (pedagogical experiment, questionnaires, expert evaluation). The study refined the structure of managerial competence of future Masters of Military Management, which includes motivational-target, cognitive-analytical, operational-activity, and reflective-evaluative components. The pedagogical conditions for its development were substantiated, including the integration of simulation modeling as a leading instructional tool, scenario-based organization of the educational process, development of the analytical-prognostic component of activity, and gradual complication of learning tasks. A structural-functional model for the development of managerial competence was developed. The results of the pedagogical experiment demonstrated a significant increase in the proportion of students in the experimental group achieving sufficient and expert levels of managerial competence compared to the control group. The generalization of the research results provides grounds to conclude that simulation modeling is an effective system-forming tool for the development of managerial competence of future Masters of Military Management. The implementation of the identified pedagogical conditions enhances students' ability to make well-founded managerial decisions, predict the development of situations, and act under conditions of uncertainty, which substantiates the feasibility of implementing the proposed model in the system of professional training in higher military educational institutions..
