Foreign language training as a component of the professional competence of the future doctor

The article is dedicated to the role of foreign language training as an important component of professional competence of future doctors. It defines the significance of foreign language proficiency, particularly English, for the professional development of healthcare workers, their mobility and integration into international medical community. It is established that knowledge of foreign language provides access to modern medical research, new technologies and treatment methods, and contributes to the development of communication skills necessary for effective interaction with foreign patients and colleagues.
The article discusses the main methods and approaches to foreign language training in higher medical education institutions, as well as the importance of standardization and support for teachers at different levels of the educational process. It highlights the advantages of foreign languages training for the professional growth of doctors, enhancing their competitiveness and participation in international projects.
The article describes the features of foreign language professional training in higher education institutions and its structural components. A theoretical analysis of the concepts of “professional education” and “foreign language professional training” is conducted. Methodical approaches used in the professional training of future doctors are defined, and the possibilities for the formation of foreign language professional training are examined.
It is established that the development of foreign language training for future doctors involves the ability to apply acquired knowledge to solve professional tasks in a foreign language environment. This implies the flexibility of the knowledge system with the optimal combination of subject-based and problem-based approaches to learning. An important condition is the use of educational and methodological materials for the effective acquisition of foreign language qualification by doctors, as well as, continuous development of the content of professional training and acquisition of a foreign language based on the principle of integration.
