Abstract

The purpose of the study is to provide a scientific substantiation of the pedagogical conditions for the development of students’ strength abilities through athletics as an essential component of physical education in general secondary education institutions.

The relevance of the study is determined by the growing need to enhance the level of physical fitness among schoolchildren and to foster устойчиву (sustained) motivation for engaging in physical activity. The research employed a комплекс of complementary methods, including analysis and synthesis of scientific literature, pedagogical observation, generalization of practical experience, and theoretical modeling, which enabled a systematic approach to addressing the research problem.

The article presents a theoretical generalization and scientific substantiation of pedagogical conditions for the development of students’ strength abilities in the process of athletics training. The role of strength training as an integral component of physical education, contributing to the harmonious physical development of the individual, is highlighted. The specific features of applying athletics-based exercises are analyzed with due consideration of students’ age, individual, and functional characteristics.

The effectiveness of implementing key pedagogical conditions is substantiated, including: individualization of the educational process; gradual progression and appropriate regulation of physical loads; systematic training; the development of positive motivation toward physical self-improvement; as well as continuous pedagogical supervision and self-monitoring. Methodological approaches to organizing training sessions aimed at the targeted development of strength are proposed.

The findings of the study indicate that strength is one of the fundamental physical qualities that largely determines students’ level of physical fitness and their ability to perform various motor tasks. It is demonstrated that athletics serves as an effective means of developing strength abilities, provided that the educational process is rationally organized. Adherence to the identified pedagogical conditions significantly enhances the effectiveness of training sessions. The proposed methodology can be recommended for practical implementation in educational institutions to optimize students’ physical education.
