The purpose of the article was to analyze the impact of synchronous communication tools, in particular chat and video conferences, on the level of quality of the educational process on the Moodle platform. To achieve the goal, such research methods as analysis of scientific works, comparison of the obtained information and its generalization were used. The results revealed that distance learning, as one of the main forms of education in Ukraine in today’s conditions, has numerous advantages (accessibility and flexibility, no need to attend classes in a classroom format, use of innovative technologies). It can take place in two formats – asynchronous and synchronous, depending on the choice of educational institution and teacher. One of the tools that allows you to implement distance learning is the Moodle learning management system. This platform provides ample opportunities for interaction and information exchange. The main tools for communication of the participants of the educational process were analyzed. It was determined that communication on the Moodle platform in a synchronous format is provided by chat. Despite the presence of certain communication tools, the Moodle platform does not have a full-fledged module for conducting video conferences, which play an important role in distance education. To organize video conferences on the Moodle platform, teachers can use other tools and combine them with the functions of the platform. Tools that can be integrated into the Moodle platform include BigBlueButton, Zoom, Google Meet and Jitsi. Each of these systems has its advantages and disadvantages. Among the analyzed video communication services, Zoom stands out for its ease of use, multi-functionality and availability on various devices, which makes it the optimal choice for ensuring synchronous communication in an educational environment. The conclusions state that the introduction of video conferencing and chat systems has a positive effect on the educational process, promoting effective communication between all participants, regardless of their location, and making it more accessible and interactive.
