Abstract

The article substantiates the role of educational and methodological support of the educational process as a resource for the professional development of future teachers in the context of transformations in teacher education and the digitalization of the learning environment. The study employs a set of theoretical and empirical methods: analysis of psychological and pedagogical sources, regulatory documents, and scientific publications; generalization and systematization of approaches to understanding educational and methodological support; a survey of students in higher pedagogical education; and quantitative and qualitative methods for interpreting the obtained data. The empirical basis consists of survey results from 155 students of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics at a pedagogical university. It was established that educational and methodological support occupies a significant place in the educational process and is perceived by students as an important factor in professional development. It was determined that electronic learning environments, particularly the Moodle platform, serve as the primary channel for accessing learning materials, confirming the dominance of digital resources in the contemporary preparation of future teachers. The study revealed that electronic learning courses and digital educational resources are the most in-demand, whereas traditional forms of educational and methodological support are used to a limited extent. Positive perceptions of the structure and accessibility of electronic courses were identified, while the relevance of some printed materials was found to be insufficient. It was demonstrated that educational and methodological support contributes to the formation of professional competencies, supports the individualization of the educational process, and fosters the development of self-education skills and motivation for professional growth. The need to improve digital resources, enhance the quality of electronic courses, update textbook and manual content, and standardize approaches to developing educational and methodological materials was identified. The study established the influence of the structure, content, and presentation forms of various types of educational and methodological support on the formation of students’ readiness for professional self-development, reflection, self-organization, and lifelong learning. The findings confirm that educational and methodological support is an integrative resource for the professional development of future teachers, providing not only informational support for the educational process but also creating conditions for the development of professional autonomy, reflexivity, and the ability to engage in continuous learning. At the same time, it was found that existing approaches to its development are fragmented and require systematization. The article substantiates the feasibility of constructing a holistic model of educational and methodological support that integrates digital resources, modern didactic approaches, and practice-oriented materials to ensure the effective professional formation of future teachers.
