Abstract

The relevance of the study is due to transformations in the field of art education caused by martial law in Ukraine, which are accompanied by changes in the forms of organizing the educational process, restrictions on face-to-face interaction and the need to introduce distance and blended learning formats. In these conditions, the preparation of higher education students of pedagogical institutions for effective choirmaster activity as future leaders of children’s choirs is of particular importance. The purpose of the article is to theoretically substantiate and determine the main directions of transformation of the methodology of working with a children’s choir in the process of training higher education students of pedagogical institutions in wartime conditions. Methods. The study used methods of theoretical analysis of scientific sources, generalization of modern pedagogical and artistic approaches, systematization of methods of vocal and choral work, as well as comparative analysis of traditional and innovative forms of organizing children’s choral performance. Elements of competency-based, activity-based and personality-oriented approaches were applied to substantiate the content of professional training of future teachers of music. Results. It was determined that in wartime conditions, a transformation of choirmaster activity is taking place, which consists in combining traditional and remote forms of work, expanding the professional functions of future specialists and integrating digital technologies into vocal and choral practice. The need to adapt vocal and choral work methods to the conditions of limited face-to-face interaction is substantiated, which involves increasing the individualization of learning, developing independent activity of choir participants and using digital resources. Effective forms of organizing children’s choral performance in wartime are summarized, in particular virtual choirs, online rehearsals and remote concert practices. The main problems of training applicants for higher education in pedagogical institutions are identified, including an insufficient level of digital competence, limited methodological support and the need to update the content of choirmaster training. Methodological approaches to training future leaders of children’s choral groups taking into account modern challenges are outlined. Conclusions. It was found that the effectiveness of training future teachers of music for choirmaster activity in wartime conditions is ensured by the integration of traditional and innovative teaching methods, the introduction of distance and mixed formats, as well as the development of professional competencies necessary for working with children’s choirs in an unstable educational environment. The results obtained can be used to improve the methodology for training students of higher education institutions and further research in the field of children’s choir performance.
