This article analyzes the characteristics of the reception of Ukrainian ethno-pedagogical ideas within the contemporary Guide movement. The relevance of the study stems from the need to preserve and reflect on national educational traditions in the face of contemporary challenges. Of particular importance is the analysis of ways to integrate the ethno-pedagogical heritage into the activities of children’s and youth organizations, particularly the Guides, as an environment for the formation of a nationally conscious personality. The purpose of this article is to explore the characteristics of how the ideas of Ukrainian ethnopedagogy have been received within the domestic Guide movement. Achieving this goal involves addressing the following tasks: to characterize the educational system of the “Scouts” children’s and youth organization; to analyze the forms and methods of its educational influence on the process of shaping the developing personality; and to outline the main directions of the application of ethnopedagogical ideas in this process. To achieve the stated goal and fulfill the defined tasks, a set of research methods was employed; in particular, the analytical method made it possible to identify the distinctive features of ethnopedagogical ideas and the specifics of their application in the educational practices of the Scout movement; synthesis enabled the integration of the obtained results into a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms for integrating these ideas into practical Scouting activities; the generalization method allowed for the formulation of conclusions regarding the role of ethnopedagogy in shaping the value orientations and educational potential of the domestic Scouting movement.
The focus is on the fact that ethnopedagogical ideas serve as a source for the formation of value orientations, national consciousness, and moral and ethical qualities of the individual within the context of modern children’s and youth organizations. The paper examines the specific nature of the Scouting movement as a structured educational system that combines elements of informal learning, practical activities, collective interaction, and values-based education; it also describes the mechanisms for incorporating ethno-pedagogical traditions into the program content and educational practices of Scouting. The importance of integrating the ideas of Ukrainian ethnopedagogy into the activities of the modern Scout movement as a factor in preserving national cultural heritage and fostering civic education has been substantiated. It is emphasized that drawing on ethnopedagogical principles ensures the continuity of traditions and strengthens the organization’s educational potential. The results of the study showed that the reception of the ideas of Ukrainian ethnopedagogy in the Scout movement is manifested in the content of educational and upbringing programs, symbolism, collective forms of activity, and the moral and value orientations of participants. Conclusions. Scouting organizations create an educational environment that fosters the harmonious development of the individual through a variety of activities: spending time in nature, games, acquiring practical skills through group interaction, and so on. The key ideas of Ukrainian ethnopedagogy (upbringing through work, family values, folk morality and ethical norms, upbringing through customs and traditions, the idea of collectivism and mutual aid, moral self-improvement, civic and patriotic education) have significant educational potential and can be productively integrated into the system of the modern Scouting movement. Their implementation contributes to the formation of national identity, moral and ethical values, and civic engagement among participants.
