Abstract

Objective. The article explores methods of motivation for learning and identifies the main factors contributing to the motivation to study chemical disciplines. It focuses on both theoretical aspects and the practical implementation of these methods in the educational process. Methods. The research employed methods of literature analysis, generalization, and tabular systematization, alongside questionnaire surveys and ranking techniques. Results. The article specifies the interpretation of the concept of «motivation», defined as a process that directs, regulates, and activates the activity of the learning subject, and «professional motivation», presented as a unity of components: cognitive interest in the chosen profession, motivation to study chemical disciplines, and general interest in the process of cognition. Priority motives for the learning activity of students studying chemical disciplines during the vocational training of future pharmacist assistants are highlighted. The theory of the unity of motivation and learning activity is described, along with didactic principles: professional direction, fundamentalization, polytechnism, and integration – as decisive factors in selecting teaching methods that form or strengthen motivation for learning activities and professional development. A list of such teaching methods and their classification groups is provided: methods of forming cognitive interest, methods of developing a positive emotional attitude towards learning, methods of forming a duty and responsibility for learning, methods of psychological influence of the teacher. Conclusions. The study concludes that to form the motivational sphere of future pharmacist assistants, priority should be given to methods based on the principle of professional direction, along with a group of methods involving the teacher's psychological influence on the student's personality. A comprehensive combination of methods is important.
