The relevance of this study is arises from the need for a comprehensive, in-depth, and systematic analysis of the pedagogical legacy of Marcelina Darowska in order to identify the role of women in shaping the future of society. The study aims to examine the representation of the role of the woman-teacher and the woman-mother within the pedagogical paradigm of Marcelina Darowska. Results. M. Darowska's educational system was aimed at preparing conscious Christian wives, mothers, and active citizens. While preserving the family hearth, women simultaneously became defenders of national identity, language, traditions, and culture, acting as a kind of shield against assimilation processes and ensuring an inseparable connection between the institution of the family and the educational process. The innovative elements of M. Darowska's pedagogy make it possible to regard her as a forerunner of modern educational and sociocultural movements. Darowska interpreted nationality as "God's idea," emphasised the fundamental role of the native language in its formation, and called language "the mirror of the soul" of a nation. In her pedagogical paradigm, a woman is "the mother of the future" and the "angel of family life"; she directly shapes the future of the world by educating the youth who will represent the nation. One of the most effective pedagogical methods in her system was the spiritual guidance of her pupils, aimed at forming internally resilient, "courageous women" capable of resisting the moral decay of the world and leading others toward holiness through attentive presence, selfless love, sacrifice, and inner freedom – qualities that are integral markers of moral formation. M. Darowska departs from the model of raising a "salon doll," instead emphasising the practical preparation of girls for real family and social life, making a radical shift from external discipline to a deep understanding of the child's inner emotional and spiritual world. The cultivation in girls of rational thrift, strict organisation, punctuality, and an unwavering sense of duty was regarded by M. Darowska as the most effective means of improving not only the economic condition of an individual family but also that of the entire devastated country. Conclusions. At the centre of Marcelina Darowska's pedagogical paradigm is the woman as the primary subject of upbringing, the guardian of family values, and a steadfast spiritual pillar of the nation. Darowska developed a comprehensive concept of the woman as a "Citizen of the Kingdom of God," who, through her inner spiritual development, can initiate the revival of an entire state by moral renewing her own family. It has been established that the specificity of this approach lies in a categorical rejection of a superficial, purely secular understanding of women's education, which dominated in Poland's aristocratic and affluent circles at the time, in favour of a deep internal formation grounded in Christian ethics, national consciousness, and social responsibility.Downloads
