Modular Technology for Learning the Basics of Inclusive Pedagogy by Future Music Teachers

Abstract

The article examines the issue of future music teachers’ training, students of higher education at the first (Bachelor) level, for inclusive education of primary school students. Emphasis is made on reforming changes in the system of primary education, in particular, the introduction of an inclusive form of education. They put forward fundamentally new requirements for the level of professional training for future teachers, including music teachers, who are able and ready to approach inclusive education professionally for thestudentswith special needs by means of musical art. Purpose isto justify the relevance of the problem of professional training of future music teachers for the inclusive education of students with special educational needs in primary school and to describe the experience of such training by means of modular technology in the educational practice of the Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University(based on the analysis of the scientific work of Ukrainian researchers). Research methods. The logic of scientific research was provided by a set of theoretical methods of scientific knowledge: analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization, compiling a bibliography to study the state of development of the outlined problem in scientific literature; modeling method for creating a special content module within the educational, regulatory discipline.  The result of the study is creation and implementation into the process of professional training for future music teachers of the first (Bachelor) level in Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical Universitythe special content module named «Fundamentals of Inclusive Pedagogy» within the educational, normative discipline «Methodology of General Music Education» and integrated «Art» course. Conclusions. The experience of the Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University regarding theprofessional training for future music teachers such as implementation of inclusive education of art classes in elementary school proves the effectiveness of such an approach via creation of special content module, named «Fundamentals of inclusive pedagogy» within the educational, regulatory discipline «Methodology of General Music Education» and integrated course «Art».
