Features of Training IT Students for Conducting Scientific-Technical research

Abstract

Students of the bachelor and master levels of IT-specialties have an attestation there in the form of defense of a qualifying work at the end of their study. The students don’t have only to know and be able to implement the stages and methods of scientific-technical research, they also must be able to carry out scientific activities in order to successfully complete the task of the qualification work. In the work the characteristics of systemic and critical thinking are presented. Also, the characteristics of creative personality are mentioned. The manifestations of clip thinking of modern youth are considered too. There are given some examples of methodology of conducting lecture and laboratory classes, taking into account the peculiarities of the conditions for the formation of scientific activity of students of IT-specialties. It was determined that this process includes stages. The purpose of the first stage is the formation of some elements of students' research activity. At the next stage, integral research activity is formed. At the final stage, some elements of real scientific activity are formed. The process of development of such scientific activity takes place throughout our life in time of professional and scientific activities. It was concluded that the purposeful process of forming the scientific-research activities of students, taking into account the peculiarities of thinking proses of modern students and the conditions of their study. It contributes to the effective implementation of scientific-technical research by students who are going to get bachelors and masters degree. To support these conclusions are given, some results of students research activities of the Department of Computer Sciences and Information Systems of the State University of Trade and Economics are given.
