Abstract

The modern pace of life, in the conditions of fierce competition, makes quite high demands on a person who claims to be successful in work, to show social activity, to be psychologically and physically resistant to the stressful factors of modern life. In turn, physical culture is an important part of the life of every reasonable person who strives for harmonious comprehensive development "A healthy body is a healthy spirit." The generally accepted definition of physical culture consists in a system of organized and systematic physical exercises invested in the development of physical qualities: strength, dexterity, endurance, flexibility of the body, preservation of health and improvement of general physical and psychological well-being. Nevertheless, physical culture goes beyond physical development - it also contributes to the formation of mental stability, self-discipline, responsibility and strong-willed qualities [1,с.33].

We consider it necessary to point out that from the point of view of psychophysiology, to characterize the level of work capacity of workers in the maritime sphere of activity, the primary structural components that determine the general functional state of the organism of a particular specialist are strictly linked to the direction of his professional activity, as well as the specific conditions in which this activity is carried out In turn, according to M.S. According to Korlchuk, one and the same work carried out in different specific conditions (favorable or unfavorable, interfering) depending on the individual functional state of the specialist, may involve different expenditure of psychophysiological resources. According to M.S. According to Korlchuk, this is precisely what determines the optimal level of performance and safe activity of a specialist in one or another direction [2 c, 18].

In the context of the above, it is obvious to us the expediency of introducing systematic sports training for representatives of the maritime sector and the positive impact of these physical exercises on the formation of the willpower of a specialist's personality as important components of successful professional activity in various sometimes unfavorable conditions. Thus, we consider the thematic direction of scientific research chosen by us to be relevant both in the theoretical and practical sense.
