Abstract

In the current conditions of reforming the pedagogical education system, the issue of increasing the level of professional readiness of future physical education teachers for professional activity is of particular importance. The study of this issue is relevant given the growing requirements for the quality of training of specialists in physical education and sports. The article considers the trends in the development of professional readiness of future specialists in physical education and sports, graduates of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of the G.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University based on empirical data analysis for 2019–2024. In our work, we adhere to the opinion that readiness for professional activity is a complex personal formation formed within the pedagogical educational space, which reflects the activity of the applicant in the process of preparation and involvement in professional activity, that is, it assumes a high motivational orientation towards mastering professional activity, a positive attitude towards the chosen profession, a formed purposefulness and organization in the learning process, as well as the acquisition of relevant experience and special competencies. Analyzing changes in readiness levels (low, medium, high) allows us to determine the main patterns and prospects for improving applicants' preparation for professional activity. There is a general increase in the level of professional readiness of future specialists in physical education and sports. The main factors that contributed to these changes are the modernization of educational programs, the introduction of innovative teaching methods, and increasing the motivation of applicants through the active use of individualization of educational, sports, and scientific work in the educational process. Promising areas of further research are improving the methodological base of training future specialists and expanding the practical component in the educational process.
