Formation of tolerance in future masters of psychology by means of autonomous learning in the practice of teaching the discipline “Theoretical and methodological problems of psychology”

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the problem of forming tolerance in future masters of psychology by means of autonomous learning in the practice of teaching the discipline “Theoretical and Methodological Problems of Psychology”. The purpose of the article is to reveal the possibilities for the formation of future masters of psychology tolerance by means of autonomous learning in the practice of teaching the discipline “Theoretical and Methodological Problems of Psychology”. To achieve this goal, the methods of theoretical analysis and empirical methods (observation of the process of organizing and conducting classes in the discipline “Theoretical and Methodological Problems of Psychology”, the quality of the proposed tasks by master students) were used. The results of the study present the author's definition of the concept of “tolerance of the future psychologist-researcher” as an integrative quality of the future psychologist, which reflects his/her ability to accept and respect diversity, ethical interaction, critical thinking and constructive dialogue, emotional stability, social responsibility for the correctness of the results of scientific research. The means of autonomous learning that are used in the organization of learning in the process of studying the discipline “Theoretical and Methodological Problems of Psychology” in the context of tolerance formation are identified: electronic resources (e-books, articles, textbooks, Google Scholar scientific database), Canva for organizing and structuring information, digital means of communication (video conferencing via Zoom platform), educational videos (YouTube), gamification tools, tools for reflection and self-analysis (keeping learning diaries), project technologies (analysis of case studies, practical tasks). The features of the implementation of certain means of autonomous learning in the practice of teaching the discipline “Theoretical and Methodological Problems of Psychology” during lectures, practical classes, as well as in the process of performing individual and independent work by future masters of psychology are revealed. The conclusions summarize that specific examples of the use of autonomous learning tools that contribute to the development of future masters of psychology's independent learning skills and tolerance for a variety of opinions and approaches are presented. Further research will focus on identifying and substantiating the pedagogical conditions for the formation of future masters of psychology’s tolerance through autonomous learning.
