Abstract

The purpose of the article is to identify innovative approaches to creating a safe educational environment for higher education students in Ukraine under martial law conditions. To achieve this goal, general scientific methods such as analysis, comparison, and generalization were employed. The results findings highlight the importance of forming a safe educational environment that ensures secure learning and working conditions, fosters comfortable interaction among participants in the educational process, and promotes their emotional well-being. With the onset of the full-scale invasion in Ukraine, educational institutions transitioned to remote and blended learning to ensure the safety of all participants in the educational process. The main advantages of distance education are outlined, including accessibility, maintaining communication, the use of advanced technologies, and individualization. To facilitate effective distance learning, higher education institutions in Ukraine actively utilize various information technologies and digital platforms. The success of higher education students largely depends on consciously addressing their motivation within the educational process. Key factors for enhancing student motivation in distance learning include engaging them in various activities, offering choices, using practice-oriented tasks, implementing interactive methods, and creating a positive psychological climate during classes. Significant attention in the educational process is devoted to developing psychological support mechanisms and resilience among students, which is a critical component of creating a healthy and safe educational environment. The study’s conclusionsemphasize the necessity of integrating innovative approaches to create a safe educational environment for higher education students in Ukraine during martial law. Despite its negative consequences, the full-scale invasion has become a catalyst for changes in Ukraine’s higher education system. The increased flexibility in organizing the educational process, which became essential under martial law conditions, should be preserved and further developed in the future.
