School has always been a place where a child gets to know the world, learns its complexity and multifacetedness. In today's world, given the need for teachers to interact not only with students, but also to adapt to the challenges of digitalization, the scope and complexity of the homeroom teacher's responsibilities have increased significantly.
An example of the introduction of biblical texts into educational activities as a tool for forming ethical norms, understanding good and evil, supporting environmental awareness and fostering respect for family and civic values is described.
Methods. Comparison of different approaches to education of spiritual and moral values in different countries and pedagogical systems. Studying foreign experience can help in adapting successful practices to local school conditions and improving the educational process. Observing the behavior of students, their participation in educational activities, interaction with the class teacher helps to understand how the process of formation of spiritual and moral values actually takes place. Analysis of the content of textbooks and educational materials for the availability and quality of information about spiritual and moral values allows us to assess the extent to which educational materials contribute to the formation of moral orientations among students.
Conclusions. Only thanks to the close cooperation of school, family and society, it is possible to overcome the lack of moral guidelines and raise a new generation of responsible citizens. Educational hours with Bible verses not only encourage children to think, but also help to form a strong spiritual foundation for adult life, full of challenges and trials.
