Abstract

Purpose: to explore the problems and opportunities of using virtual reality (VR) in the professional training of future engineers. Modern technologies, in particular VR, have the potential to significantly transform the educational process, contributing to the development of interactive learning, the formation of cognitive and practical skills, as well as increasing the competitiveness of graduates. The paper uses an analytical method to review scientific publications, systematize data and develop practical recommendations. Methods: the article uses several research methods that provide a comprehensive approach to studying the implementation of virtual reality in the professional training of future engineers: the analytical method, methods of systematization and comparative analysis. The use of these methods provided a comprehensive approach to studying the problems and opportunities for implementing VR in the educational process. Results: the analysis showed that VR contributes to the modeling of complex technical processes, the safe development of professional skills and the development of an interdisciplinary approach. It was determined that the implementation of VR in the educational process is complicated by financial constraints, the lack of standardized methods and insufficient training of teachers. The proposed recommendations include the unification of technical requirements, the development of educational scenarios and the creation of modular VR solutions. In addition, attention is focused on the importance of forming partnerships between educational institutions and technology companies, which will reduce the costs of implementing VR. Conclusions:the use of VR opens up new opportunities for training engineers, in particular in the development of critical thinking, technical competence and engineering creativity. For the full integration of VR, it is necessary to overcome financial and organizational barriers, ensure the standardization of VR tools, adapt educational programs and ensure proper training of teachers. The implementation of these steps will contribute to improving the quality of engineering education in accordance with the challenges of the modern technological world.
