Abstract

The article outlines the need to develop international cooperation between educational institutions in the United States and Ukraine regarding forming moral and spiritual values in future primary school teachers. It traces the stages of the development of the education system in the United States, based on the study by Maria Zahirna, "How the North American States Gained Freedom" (1907). The focus is on aspects of content provision, the modernization of teacher training in colleges and universities in the United States, and the effectiveness of civic education in American higher education. The article highlights the issue of forming moral and spiritual values in future primary school teachers. This challenge remains relevant in educational institutions in both Ukraine and the United States, as noted in the works of Raisa Okhrimchuk.

The study focuses on works by domestic authors about children: "The Little Sinner" (1895) by Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi, "The Big City, the Little Bunny, or Honey for Mom" (2016) by Ivan Malkovych and Sofia Us, and "Love, Aubrey" (2016) by American author Suzanne LaFleur. A storytelling technology is proposed, along with techniques such as "In the Portrait Gallery" and "Recognize the Hero/Heroine" using the "Rules of an Honest Person" developed by Antonina Movchun. It is assumed that these approaches will encourage future primary school professionals to reflect on the moral and ethical value of the analyzed literary works during the study of the topic "The Text as a Unit of Speech" in teaching methodology classes.

It is recommended that future primary school educators initiate a virtual exhibition-presentation of books for their peers on social media. This should include the English version of the long-seller by Ivan Malkovych and Sofia Us, "A Small Bunny in the Big City or Honey for Mommy" (2007), translated by Kateryna Yushchenko, and the novel "Love, Aubrey" (2010) by Suzanne LaFleur, translated by Nataliya Yasinovska.
