Formation of leadership skills of students in the process of interdisciplinary integration

Abstract

The relevance of this research is determined by the need for modern education to foster students' leadership skills that align with the challenges of globalization, rapid technological advancements, and evolving social realities. Leadership skills such as critical thinking, initiative, communication, and teamwork are key factors in students' personal development, socialization, and competitiveness in today's world. The use of interdisciplinary integration in the educational process serves as an effective tool for creating conditions that promote the comprehensive development of these competencies, ensuring the formation of students' holistic worldview and their ability to address complex interdisciplinary tasks.  The aim of the article is to determine the potential of integrating arts, computer science, and English language in fostering leadership skills among students of general secondary education institutions.  Methods: The study employed an analysis of scientific publications and regulatory documents on interdisciplinary integration and leadership skill development, observations of the educational process, and generalization of practical experience in implementing project-based activities.  Results: The article substantiates the significance of interdisciplinary integration in forming students' leadership skills, such as initiative, creativity, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork. An example of implementing the integrated project «Castles and Fortresses of Ukrainian Heritage» is provided. This project focuses on developing civic awareness, social, and digital competencies. It combines the study of cultural and historical heritage, the creation of informational booklets using digital technologies, and the presentation of results in English. Conclusions: Interdisciplinary integration promotes the development of systemic thinking, creative abilities, and leadership skills essential for students' successful adaptation to modern challenges. The integration of arts, computer science, and English content expands students' opportunities for self-realization and enhances the efficiency of the educational process.
