Optimization of the process of forming social competence of a future teacher of a vocational education institution using it technologies

Abstract

The article reveals the content of the concepts: «vocational education», «teacher of a vocational education institution», «competence», «professional competence», «social competence»; the structure of the social competence of a future teacher of a vocational education institution is detailed. The purpose of the article is to search for and substantiate the possibilities of optimizing the process of forming the social competence of a future teacher of a vocational education institution using IT technologies. The methodological basis of the study was the competency, system and activity approaches, in the implementation of which theoretical and empirical methods of scientific knowledge were applied (analysis of scientific sources, synthesis of processed information, comparison and systematization of concepts, generalization of key results, forecasting, etc.), which made it possible to obtain the following results: in order to optimize the process of forming the social competence of a future teacher of a vocational education institution, innovative learning technologies should be used along with traditional ones, among which IT technologies occupy a special place. It is emphasized that the use of these technologies contributes to the personal development of the future specialist in general and the formation of his social competence in particular. It is noted that among other IT technologies in the educational process, such technologies as «word clouds» and web quests have proven themselves well. Based on the analysis of the experience of using the specified IT technologies, their positive impact on the process of forming the social competence of education seekers has been proven. The conclusions indicate that the use of IT technologies optimizes the process of forming the social competence of future teachers of vocational education institutions. As a promising direction of future research, mechanisms for forming the social competence of future teachers in the process of their professional training have been selected.
