Football as a part of sustainable development of society: ecology, economy, lifelong education, overcoming any manifestations of discrimination

Abstract

The Objective is to substantiate the ways of using football as one of the means of ensuring the achievement of the main goals of sustainable development of society. Tasks of the work: 1) To analyze literary sources devoted to the coverage of the role and place of football in the life of modern society. 2) To outline the role of football in the realization of the goals of sustainable development of society. Methods: analysis of literary sources, information from the Internet, synthesis and generalization. Results and Conclusions. Football plays an important role in the system of sustainable development of society, bringing people together and contributing to solving environmental, social and economic challenges. Its contribution to sustainable development can be seen through several key aspects: social integration and education: inclusiveness (football is a universal sport accessible to people of all ages, genders, cultures, or social status; tournaments and local initiatives promote social integration, particularly of socially vulnerable groups such as migrants and people with disabilities); education and upbringing (football can teach young people values such as teamwork, tolerance, leadership, and fair play, etc. “green stadiums” (recently, stadiums are being built with the principles of environmental sustainability in mind (use of solar energy, rainwater collection systems); implementation of eco-initiatives in football (greening campaigns, reducing the carbon footprint of tournaments and promoting environmental awareness among fans, etc;); global partnership and peace: peacekeeping potential: football is often used as a tool for conflict resolution and peace building, as it brings together people of different cultures and nationalities; international cooperation: organizations like FIFA and UEFA actively cooperate with the UN to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, such as poverty reduction, gender equality and climate change.
