Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of national-patriotic and civic education of higher education students.  The relevance of the study is due to the need to develop a systematic approach and effective practices of national-patriotic and civic education of higher education students in the context of martial law and the struggle of the Ukrainian nation for its independence. A comprehensive systematic and targeted activity to form in the younger generation a high patriotic consciousness, a sense of loyalty, love for the Motherland, concern for the welfare of its people, readiness to fulfill civic and constitutional duty to protect the national interests, integrity, independence of Ukraine, and to promote its development as a legal, democratic, social state is of great importance.

The purpose of the study is to comprehensively review modern approaches and effective practices of national-patriotic and civic education of higher education students, as well as to identify challenges and prospects related to the formation of a conscious citizen of Ukraine in the student environment in wartime.

To achieve this goal, the methods of theoretical and methodological analysis were used to identify challenges in the organization of national-patriotic and civic education and to develop a systematic approach and effective practices to address this problem. The results of this study identify the challenges challenges that arise in connection with the organization of a systematic approach and effective practices of national-patriotic and civic education of higher education students. The prospects for the development of national-patriotic and civic education of youth are considered.

The article also offers the author's vision of the formation of approaches and practical measures that can be used to strengthen national-patriotic and civic education in higher education institutions. It is proved that the most important priority of national-patriotic and civic education is the formation of young people's value attitude towards the Ukrainian people, their state and nation.

The conclusions summarize that in order to ensure national-patriotic and civic education of students, a modern concept of the state level is needed, taking into account the challenges of the times; involvement of effective methods, techniques, means and forms of organization of national-patriotic education under martial law.
