Abstract

The article examines self-assessment tools for primary school teachers, particularly portfolios. The essence of the concept of "portfolio" is clarified as an individual portfolio of educational achievements for teachers, an individual cumulative assessment of professional activity, and its objectives. Various types of portfolios are discussed, including achievement portfolios, report portfolios, thematic portfolios, and comprehensive portfolios. Additionally, two main types of portfolios are identified: electronic (E-portfolios) and paper portfolios. The article includes forms of portfolios (E-portfolios), web portfolios, competency and qualification passports, and the European Language Portfolio.

The structure of a teacher's portfolio is characterized by the following components: a title page; a cover letter with a brief description of the portfolio concerning the educator, their qualification category, the subject area in which the teacher specializes, etc.; an annotated table of contents; and a self-analysis of each element/indicator of the portfolio.

The article reveals the main features of a teacher's portfolio, including the teacher's independent choice of structure, the order of arrangement, the inclusion of additions and comments, and self-analysis of personal achievements, among others.

The main indicators of a teacher's professional mastery that can be reflected in the teacher's portfolio are presented as follows: information about the teacher; the teacher's pedagogical activities and their results; student achievements; the teacher's scientific and methodological activities; extracurricular activities of the teacher; the teacher's educational and material base; class management; creative contributions; feedback, and more.

Furthermore, the article reveals general requirements for formatting a portfolio in paper form, suggested criteria and recommendations for creating presentations in MS PowerPoint, and common mistakes when developing a portfolio. Emphasis is placed on ways to promote the teacher's activities among both students and colleagues, including creating a teacher's website, maintaining a personal blog (quote blog, communication platform, portfolio blog, lifestyle blog).
