Abstract

This article analyzes the problem of deterioration of health in student youth, investigates the relationship between physical education classes, the level of health of students and their motivation to perform exercises of health-improving athletic gymnastics. In addition, the influence of motivation for physical activity as one of the most effective means of physical development and health promotion is considered. The relevance of the study is due to the need to rethink the teaching of the discipline “Physical Culture” in higher education institutions, focusing on increasing motivation and forming a culture of physical development of the individual. The main purpose of the work is to determine the impact of programmatic physical exercises in “Athletic Gymnastics” on the effectiveness of the educational process. The study is aimed at finding ways to improve the educational process at the National University “Odesa Law Academy”. The study used such methods as analysis of the educational process, review of literature, processing of questionnaire data and pedagogical observations. Implementation of the proposed program in practice will allow to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the educational process and determine the priority areas for its further development.

 The conclusions of the study confirm that the use of recreational athletic gymnastics in physical education contributed to the formation of a stable motivation for physical activity among students, which had a positive impact on their overall health.
