Abstract

The impact of modern educational reforms on the restoration of Ukraine’s national identity in the post-war period is a crucial issue that determines the country’s cultural resilience, social cohesion, and long-term development. The relevance of this study is driven by the urgent need to rebuild not only Ukraine’s physical infrastructure but also its national consciousness, which has been disrupted by years of external aggression and historical oppression. The war has accelerated efforts to strengthen national identity through education, requiring comprehensive reforms that integrate Ukrainian-centric educational programs, enhance the role of language and culture, and reinforce patriotic education. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of recent educational reforms on the restoration and strengthening of Ukrainian national identity, emphasizing the modernization of educational programs, teacher training, and the integration of national-patriotic values into the educational system. Methods: analysis of scientific literature, generalization, systematization, and comparison. The research results indicate that modern educational reforms have made a significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s national identity by integrating Ukrainian history, literature, and civic education into curricula, reinforcing the use of the Ukrainian language, and expanding programs aimed at developing critical thinking and national consciousness. Reforms have also focused on the psychological rehabilitation of students and teachers affected by war, ensuring an inclusive and resilient educational environment. The decentralization of education has provided local institutions with greater autonomy in developing curricula that reflect both regional and national identity while aligning with European educational standards. The conclusions of this study emphasize that modern educational reforms are a key factor in the restoration of Ukraine’s national identity, fostering a young generation that is aware of its history, values, and civic responsibilities. The strategic direction of these reforms should focus on further integrating national-patriotic education, promoting linguistic and cultural revival, and ensuring long-term sustainability through international cooperation.
