Abstract

The article deals with the peculiarities of organising distance learning for future teachers of Ukrainian language and literature on the example of the Faculty of Philology of Zaporizhzhia National University in the context of digital transformation of education caused by a number of security, socio-economic, technological and regulatory factors. Given the purpose of the study, the historical retrospective, key challenges and prospects of using online resources, platforms and interactive technologies in the training of future language teachers are analysed. Attention is focused on the need to form the digital competence of teachers, develop effective methods of teaching language and literature disciplines in a distance format and introduce innovative approaches to knowledge assessment. The role of communicative and creative methods in improving the effectiveness of online learning is determined. A comparative analysis of the distance education platforms of Open University (UK) and Zaporizhzhia National University is carried out. The work is based on the national regulatory framework governing the implementation of distance education and the regulatory documents of Zaporizhzhia National University, which define the basic model of the educational process in a distance format. The methods of scientific literature analysis, generalisation, observation and systematisation were used to achieve the set tasks. The results of the study prove the importance of further studying the problem of training teachers of the Ukrainian language and literature in the light of modern challenges: the growing role of distance learning, the development of digital competence, an individual approach to students, preparation for teaching in different settings, the need to develop communication skills. The conclusion is that the adaptation of the educational process to modern requirements will contribute to the training of competitive philology teachers.
