Abstract

The article is devoted to the pedagogical problem of practical training of future dentists. The scientific pedagogical and medical literature on practical training of dentists is analyzed and summarized. The survey revealed the attitude of higher education students - future dentists to mastering practical skills during practice with the use of simulation technologies.

Objective. The purpose of the article is to reveal the pedagogical problem of practical training of future dentists, to substantiate its relevance and feasibility, to explain the importance of integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills for higher education students in medical higher education institutions.

Methods. Research methods - analysis and generalization of scientific literature, questionnaires.

Results. Theoretical training of higher education students is important, but it is practical skills that allow future dentists to feel confident in the workplace, quickly navigate in unforeseen situations and work with patients. With changes in educational programs, there is a need to integrate practical training with theoretical knowledge. The study investigated the attitude of higher education students – future dentists to mastering practical skills during practice with the use of simulation technologies. The survey was conducted among 116 students of 2-4 years of the Faculty of Dentistry of Poltava State Medical University. The results of its conduct emphasized the importance of practical training of future dentists.

Conclusions. Pedagogical provision of practical training of future dentists is an urgent pedagogical problem that requires the integration of teaching methods, technologies and infrastructure. This requires constant improvement of educational programs, high pedagogical skills of teachers, creation of appropriate conditions for training and simulations, as well as the introduction of the latest technologies to ensure a high level of professionalism of future dentists.
