Abstract

Modern educational processes are undergoing significant changes under the influence of digitalization, which opens up new opportunities for monitoring and supporting the physical activity of education seekers. The use of digital technologies in this area contributes to increasing the efficiency of motor activity control, adapting curricula, and forming health-preserving competence. Objectives is to determine the features of the use of digital technologies for monitoring and supporting the physical activity of education seekers, to assess their effectiveness and prospects for implementation in the educational process. Methods. The study used an analysis of scientific literature, as well as modeling of a physical activity monitoring system using modern technological solutions. Results. The main categories of digital technologies used for monitoring physical activity are identified: wearable devices, mobile applications, virtual and augmented reality. Their advantages and limitations in the context of the educational process are characterized. A model of digital monitoring of physical activity is proposed, which involves the integration of automated data collection, analytics, and feedback between education seekers and teachers. It is shown that the introduction of digital technologies allows to improve the quality of accounting for students’ physical activity and create conditions for objective control of program learning outcomes. An algorithm for using digital technologies to monitor students’ physical activity in the process of implementing physical education programs in higher education institutions is proposed. Such an organizational approach creates the prerequisites for the prompt assessment and correction of students’ motor activity in classroom and independent learning, which will contribute to maintaining their physical activity. Conclusions. The use of digital technologies in monitoring and supporting the physical activity of students is a promising direction that contributes to the effective management of physical activity in the educational environment. The proposed system allows to promptly assess the physical condition of students, adapt curricula and provide feedback, which improves the quality of physical education and contributes to the formation of a culture of a healthy lifestyle.
