The purpose of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of physical activity programmes in reducing stress and improving mental health, as well as to justify the need for regular training, which has a positive impact on the emotional state. To achieve this goal, analysis, synthesis, comparison, and generalisation were used. The article substantiates the stressfulness of modern living conditions as a result of the coronavirus pandemic and military actions by a neighbouring country. The necessity of physical activity to reduce the manifestations of stress and improve mental health has been proved.Studies have shown that a comprehensive implementation of various types of physical activity is advisable to reduce the impact of stress and improve mental health. This includes areas such as exercise, mental fitness, Pilates, yoga and wushu. The study evaluated scientific approaches to analysing the effectiveness of physical exercise as a tool for reducing psycho-emotional stress, as well as its role in preventing mental disorders. The impact of aerobic exercise, strength training, yoga, meditation practices and integrated programmes on stress, anxiety and emotional stability was studied. The results show that regular physical activity helps to reduce cortisol levels, the main stress hormone, improve mood through the release of endorphins and increase overall psychological stability. Comprehensive programmes combining physical activity with relaxation techniques and elements of cognitive behavioural therapy have proven to be particularly effective. The data obtained can be useful for developing strategies for maintaining mental health, creating individual and group physical activity programmes, and for the practical activities of psychologists, fitness trainers, and medical professionals.
