The article reflects on the importance of integrating guest lectures into the process of training future journalists as an effective tool for the formation of practical competencies, emphasizes the need to combine cognitive, practical and value-oriented experience for the harmonious development of professional and personal skills. Modern journalism requires special skills and mastery of innovative tools, and teachers often need additional experience to provide such knowledge to students. Inviting a practitioner in a particular field as a mentor in the classroom only helps to master these competencies. The author emphasizes the importance of scientific and theoretical elaboration of this topic in the context of organizing meetings directly in the classroom while studying specific cases in which the guest is an expert, since in scientific discourse such references reproduce it only fragmentarily.
The purpose of the article is to substantiate and prove, by analyzing my own experience, the methodological necessity of introducing guest master classes, workshops, round tables, etc. into the content of the discipline, and to provide arguments from the point of view of didactics and student expectations. Special attention is paid to the importance of such classes in distance learning and in difficult social conditions, including war, as a motivational tool for professional growth. The results of the study prove the possibility and feasibility of such cooperation thanks to modern educational technologies, in particular, through online video conferencing platforms. This monitoring of the effectiveness of guest meetings for the development of practical competencies of future journalists represents sufficient indicators of their desire to reproduce the acquired skills in practice.
The topic is promising because it describes an innovative model of the educational process in which all participants - teachers, invited mentors, and students - are seen as partners united by a common goal: to train a competent specialist for the media industry.
