Abstract

The purpose of the study is to identify the possibilities of using AI chatbots in mobile applications for distance learning, evaluate their effectiveness in improving communication and support for students, and develop recommendations for their further improvement. Given the current challenges of digital education, it is important to explore the possibilities of using such tools to provide effective feedback, individualize the educational process, and improve cognitive comprehension. Methods. The study uses a comprehensive approach that includes analysis of scientific sources, comparative analysis of the functionality of different platforms, evaluation of the effectiveness of tools, as well as methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis of the data obtained. This allowed us to identify the main trends in the implementation of AI technologies in the educational environment. The study found that chatbots with AI elements help improve communication between teachers and students, reduce cognitive load, and promptly obtain the necessary information. Chatbots integrated into mobile applications help to personalize the educational process, provide prompt support, and encourage self-study of students. In addition, they are able to adapt to the individual needs of users, which helps to improve learning efficiency. At the same time, certain limitations have been identified related to the accuracy of answers, the need to constantly update AI algorithms, and the ethical issues of interaction between students and automated systems. Conclusions. AI-based chatbots are a promising tool for distance education that provides flexible and affordable support for students. They significantly improve the organization of the educational process, optimize communication, increase the accessibility of educational materials, and promote independent learning. In order to increase the effectiveness and relevance of chatbots in the modern educational space, further research should focus on developing adaptive algorithms that take into account learning styles and integrating them with other educational technologies. Their effectiveness depends on the quality of algorithms, the level of content personalization, and integration with other digital platforms.
