Abstract

The article presents the results of an experimental study aimed at improving the physical fitness of handball players through the implementation of an original training program. The relevance of the topic is determined by the need to increase the efficiency of training young athletes in the context of modern requirements for dynamic team sports. The purpose of the study is to justify the necessity of introducing a comprehensive training program focused on the improvement of handball players’ physical qualities and to analyze its effectiveness under experimental conditions. The object of the study is the process of physical training of handball players. The subject of the study is the influence of the comprehensive author's training program on the development of physical preparedness. Within the study, a program was developed and implemented that included three complementary modules: plyometric, speed-strength, and sensorimotor-coordination. The set of training tools was applied over eight weeks as part of the main training process. To evaluate the effectiveness of the program, comparative testing of physical fitness indicators was conducted before and after the experiment. The sample consisted of handball players who were divided into experimental and control groups. The results of the study showed a statistically significant improvement in the physical qualities of the experimental group. The most substantial changes were observed in the development of explosive power, speed abilities, and stabilization skills. Statistical analysis (Student’s t-test) confirmed the significance of the obtained results (p < 0.05; p < 0.01; p < 0.001). The author’s program demonstrated high effectiveness and may be recommended for implementation in the practice of training adolescent handball players.
Conclusions. The obtained data have practical value for coaches, physical education teachers, and sports training specialists, as they allow for the optimization of the development of physical qualities in athletes, the improvement of training load efficiency, and the enhancement of overall game performance. Further research may focus on refining the proposed program considering load individualization and the step-by-step construction of the training cycle.
