Abstract

The article explores the impact of digital technology integration on the effectiveness of teaching the Ukrainian language in higher education institutions. The research is driven by the growing relevance of educational digitalization, the need to enhance didactic approaches, and the necessity to update traditional teaching methods in line with the needs of a new generation of students. The aim of the study is to assess the contribution of digital tools and platforms to increasing student engagement, improving academic performance, fostering communicative competence, and ensuring the qualitative transformation of Ukrainian language teaching methodology in higher education. The research methodology is based on a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, employing methods such as comparative analysis, systematization and generalization of experience in implementing digital technologies in the practice of teaching language disciplines, as well as pedagogical observation of the educational process in higher education institutions. Results. The findings indicate that the purposeful integration of digital technologies into the Ukrainian language teaching process significantly enhances the effectiveness of educational interaction. The use of information and communication technologies contributes to increased learning motivation, the development of student autonomy and critical thinking, and the creation of a more flexible, dynamic, and personalized learning environment. At the same time, the study identifies problematic aspects of the digitalization process, including the limited level of digital competence among some educators and infrastructural barriers. To overcome these challenges, the implementation of systematic support for teachers through professional development, ensuring equal access to digital resources, and the development of adaptive curricula using innovations is proposed. The conclusions emphasize that the digitalization of Ukrainian language instruction in higher education represents a promising direction for the modernization of humanities education. The research results confirm the advisability of combining innovative educational technologies with traditional teaching methods to improve the quality of students’ language training and to foster the necessary competencies for successful professional realization in the digital age.
