The article analyzes the peculiarities of the formation of scientific and research competence among students of higher education at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of Poltava V.G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University. The stages and algorithm of the process of preparation and organization of research activity of the applicants are disclosed.
Purpose: analysis of the peculiarities of the formation of scientific and research competence among students in a higher education institution. Methods. Theoretical – analysis and generalization of modern educational and methodical literature, regulatory and legal documents to clarify the state of development of the problem of forming scientific and research competence of students; analysis – for evaluating educational programs implemented at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of Poltava V.G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University; generalizing – for formulating conclusions based on theoretical and practical studies, as well as content analysis (for processing regulatory documents). Current normative documents were considered, in particular, the Law of Ukraine «About Higher Education». Results. As a result of the study, it was established that the formation of scientific and research competence of students in a higher education institution occurs systematically. The process of preparation and organization of research activities at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports is carried out according to stages (tentative planning) and the recommended algorithm. Conclusions. Thus, scientific and research competence is a comprehensive quality of a student – comprehensive quality of a student, which combines research skills and skills of obtaining new knowledge through the use of methods of scientific knowledge, creative thinking, a creative approach in planning, decision-making, analysis and evaluation of the results of research activities.
