The journal "Pedagogical Academy: Scientific Notes" supports early-career pedagogical researchers and contributes to the development of the scholarly potential of pedagogical science in Ukraine. To ensure equal access to the publication of research results, the journal provides an opportunity for free publication for candidates pursuing the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
The publication fee is waived for articles that simultaneously meet all of the following conditions:
- All authors of the article are candidates for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) enrolled under a state-funded program (budget form of study) at higher education institutions or research organizations in Ukraine.
- The manuscript meets all journal requirements regarding formatting, volume, scholarly level, and thematic scope.
- The manuscript has successfully passed the peer review process and has been recommended for publication by the editorial board.
Free publication applies to:
— single-authored articles by state-funded PhD candidates;
— co-authored articles where all co-authors are state-funded PhD candidates.
The publication fee is charged in full if at least one of the article's authors is not a state-funded PhD candidate, including but not limited to:
— holders of doctoral degrees (Doctors of Science, Candidates of Science, Doctors of Philosophy who have already obtained their degree);
— PhD candidates enrolled under a contract-based (paid) form of study;
— research fellows, faculty members, and other persons who do not hold the status of a state-funded PhD candidate;
— PhD candidates at foreign higher education institutions.
This rule applies regardless of the number of co-authors and their ratio in the article.
To qualify for free publication, each author (or the sole author) must submit the following documents together with the manuscript:
— a certificate from the higher education institution or research organization confirming the candidate's status as a PhD student enrolled under a state-funded program (budget form), certified by the signature of an authorized person and the institution's seal;
— or an extract from the enrollment order confirming state-funded study.
These documents should be sent electronically (scanned copy) together with the manuscript to the editorial office email address. In the case of co-authorship, supporting documents must be provided separately by each author.
Free publication does not affect the peer review process. All manuscripts, regardless of the authors' status, undergo the same double-blind peer review procedure in accordance with the journal's editorial policy. The fact of fee-free submission is not disclosed to reviewers.
The editorial office reserves the right to request additional documents to confirm the candidates' status.
The number of free publications for a single candidate is not limited during the period of their state-funded study.
In cases of doubt regarding eligibility for free publication, the decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief of the journal.
The publication fee can be paid in two ways:
- Full prepayment of 100%.
- Using the "Installment Payment" service from PrivatBank.
"Installment Payment" is the easiest and fastest way of crediting for PrivatBank customers. The cost of the selected goods is divided into equal parts over the number of months chosen for the service.
What is needed to arrange "Installment Payment"?
- A credit card from PrivatBank ("Universal" or "Gold"), as well as elite cards for VIP customers (Platinum, World Black Edition, World Elite, Visa Infinite). You can apply online for a credit card from PrivatBank via the link.
- A limit set for the "Installment Payment" service, which is equal to or greater than the cost of the purchase (for example, if you plan to purchase an amount of 20,000 UAH, the credit limit should be at least this amount).
