Abstract

In the modern context of the development of higher technical education, the formation of students' spatial thinking is of key importance, especially in the process of mastering graphic disciplines, such as descriptive geometry. Spatial thinking is an important cognitive ability that ensures successful operation with imaginary geometric images, understanding the mutual arrangement of objects in three-dimensional space and the ability to adequately interpret their projections on a plane. The article is devoted to the analysis of methodological approaches to the formation of this ability in students of engineering specialties in the process of studying descriptive geometry. A review of scientific and pedagogical literature was carried out, which highlights modern approaches to teaching graphic disciplines, in particular, those that focus on visualization, computer support of the educational process and the development of cognitive functions were highlighted.

The features of the methodological organization of the educational process in descriptive geometry are revealed. The need for a purposeful, step-by-step development of spatial thinking is considered - from mastering theoretical foundations to the active implementation of practical constructions, analyzing the mutual arrangement of objects and solving problems of increased complexity. The effectiveness of problem-oriented tasks is emphasized, which activate students' thinking and stimulate them to independently search for solutions. Particular attention is paid to the possibilities of integrating computer technologies into the process of studying descriptive geometry. The advantages of visualization of three-dimensional models, dynamic animation and simulations for an in-depth understanding of the geometric properties of objects are determined. The formation of spatial thinking requires comprehensive methodological support, which involves a balance between traditional graphic methods and modern digital tools. Prospects for further research in the direction of creating integrated educational platforms for the development of spatial ideas and modeling are outlined.
