Cultural competence as a key aspect of foreign language teaching

The article examines the role of cultural competence in teaching foreign languages and its influence on the effectiveness of the educational process. Given the growing globalization, cultural competence is becoming an integral part of modern education, especially in the field of language learning. The purpose of the study is to analyze the influence of cultural aspects on the motivation and success of students, as well as to evaluate existing educational programs for the integration of cultural components. The methodology includes a literature review, questionnaires as well as an analysis of educational materials. The results of the study show that the inclusion of cultural competence in teaching contributes to the improvement of understanding of the language and context, increases the motivation of students, but certain challenges in the implementation of these aspects are also revealed. The article concludes with recommendations for teachers and educational institutions regarding the effective integration of cultural competence into foreign language learning programs. The revealed results indicate that students who study with cultural aspects in mind demonstrate higher results in language proficiency and the ability to use it in an intercultural context. In addition, the analysis shows that teachers who actively use cultural components in their work contribute to increasing the interest and involvement of students in the educational process. Teachers who consciously pay attention to cultural competence not only contribute to broadening the horizons of students, but also create conditions for their deeper understanding of a foreign language in the context of real intercultural interactions. They actively use interactive methods that include elements of cultural adaptation and contribute to the formation of a tolerant approach to the diversity of the cultural environment. The article discusses practical recommendations for the further development of this direction in education.
