Current trends in the use of artificial intelligence in foreign language teaching in higher education institutions

In the modern educational space, the digitalization of learning drives the active implementation of artificial intelligence technologies, transforming traditional approaches to organizing foreign language training in higher education institutions. The issue of combining technological efficiency with adherence to the principles of academic integrity is particularly important, as it underscores the need for a comprehensive understanding of the process of integrating innovative solutions into the educational process. The purpose of the article is to substantiate current trends in the use of artificial intelligence in teaching foreign languages at higher education institutions and to determine the didactic potential of these technologies, taking into account the requirements of educational ethics. The research methods include the analysis and synthesis of scientific sources, the systematization of approaches to the use of artificial intelligence in the educational process and the modeling of the relationships between technological, cognitive and effective components of learning. As a result of the study, key areas of application of artificial intelligence in foreign language training were identified, in particular as tools for personalization of learning, automation of feedback, iterative simulations and analytics of educational data. A model of the influence of intelligent technologies on the formation of foreign language communicative competence of higher education applicants was developed. The risks of using artificial intelligence were systematized, and an approach to balancing its effectiveness with academic ethics was generalized. Сonclusions. It has been established that the effectiveness of artificial intelligence is indirect and arises from the interaction of technological capabilities with pedagogical, methodological and didactic conditions of their application. Prospects for further research into developing methods for integrating intelligent systems into the educational process and fostering a culture of responsible use of digital technologies have been identified.
