The professional image of a future teacher and its formation in a higher education institution

Abstract

The article examines the problem of forming the professional image of a future teacher of a higher education institution in the process of professional training, which is due to the processes of globalization and digitalization of education institutions in the market of educational services. The purpose of the study was to theoretically substantiate the model of forming the professional image of a future teacher in the process of professional training. A set of methods was used to conduct the study: analysis, synthesis, questionnaires, quantitative and qualitative analysis of experimental data, modeling and generalization, which made it possible to clarify the structural components of the teacher’s professional image, substantiate the model of its formation and draw conclusions based on the results of the study. According to the results of the scientific search, it was found that the professional image of a teacher is an integrated characteristic of a person, reflecting a system of values, professional competence and communicative culture, the ability to self-present and interact in educational and digital environments, academic mobility and integrity, which ensure effective pedagogical activity and a positive perception of him by society as a specialist; the structural components of the teacher’s image were identified: value-motivational, cognitive, behavioral-communicative, reflective and digital-reputational; it was established that the formation of the image of a future teacher is a consistent, purposeful, motivated and systemic process, which is consistently carried out in the educational environment of an educational institution in appropriately created conditions using various forms and technologies of four integrated blocks (targeted, content-based, procedural and diagnostic-resultative), was substantiated. Conclusions. The formation of the image of a future schoolteacher is an important component of his professional training in a hinger education institution. The specified process is long and requires a systematic approach, therefore the proposed model allows to purposefully organize the educational process for the formation of a positive professional image of a future teacher.
