The purpose of the article is to analyze modern methods of developing life skills among schoolchildren in the process of physical education and to identify effective approaches to their implementation. The article emphasizes the importance of integrating life skills into school physical education programs, which contributes to the harmonious development of the individual and enhances students’ health and social preparedness for the challenges of modern society.
The research methods were based on theoretical analysis of scientific publications and practical examples of implementing physical activity programs for life skills development. A systematic approach was used, allowing for data synthesis and identification of key aspects of student competency development. The analytical approach enabled the evaluation of the role of physical activity in life skills formation and assessment of the impact of sports programs on the overall development of schoolchildren.
The research results showed that participation in sports positively influences the development of communication and social skills, such as teamwork, leadership, conflict resolution, and responsibility. Participation in sports programs helps students develop independence and confidence, reduces conflict levels, and increases motivation to learn. The findings also confirmed that physical education is an important tool for socialization and the formation of key competencies needed for future success in both professional and personal aspects of students’ lives.
Conclusions. The implementation of life skills development methods in the physical education process promotes the formation of a harmoniously developed personality and enhances the quality of education. Physical education can serve as a foundation for fostering the key competencies necessary for successful integration into society. However, there is a need to develop innovative approaches to training physical education teachers to more effectively integrate life skills into physical education programs. Additionally, the adaptation of existing methods for different age groups requires further study.
