Achievements of Ukrainian athletes in paralympic competitions as a stimulus for an active life position of Combat Horting athletes (schoolchildren, military cadets, students, and trainees)

Abstract

The collective publication analyzes literature on adaptive sports, the achievements of Ukrainian athletes in Paralympic and Olympic Games competitions, and Combat Horting – a national professional and applied sport of Ukraine. Summarized results of Ukrainian athletes’ most significant achievements in the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games since 2004 are presented: 2004 (Athens) – 6th place (24 gold medals, 55 overall), 2008 (Beijing) – 4th place (24 gold medals, 74 overall), 2012 (London) – 4th place (32 gold medals, 84 overall), 2016 (Rio de Janeiro) – 3rd place (41 gold medals, 117 overall), 2020 (Tokyo) – 6th place (24 gold medals, 98 overall), 2024 (Paris) – 7th place (22 gold medals, 82 overall). Winter Paralympic Games: 2006 (Turin) – 3rd place (7 gold medals, 25 overall), 2010 (Vancouver) – 5th place (5 gold medals, 19 overall), 2014 (Sochi) – 4th place (5 gold medals, 25 overall), 2018 (Pyeongchang) – 5th place (7 gold medals, 22 overall), 2022 (Beijing) – 2nd place (11 gold medals, 29 overall). The goal of the collective study is to substantiate the feasibility of timely teaching theoretical and practical material about the achievements of Ukrainian athletes in Paralympic Games competitions as a stimulus for cultivating an active life position among Combat Horting  athletes (schoolchildren, military cadets, students, and trainees). An action algorithm (forms of work) is described (author Z. Dikhtiarenko), aimed at fostering an active life position in Combat Horting athletes (schoolchildren, military cadets, students, and trainees) through mini-lectures, roundtables, training sessions, discussions, and webinars. The research methods used include: analysis of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical observation, analysis and systematization of literature, calculation of arithmetic averages, and an authorial methodology.
