Abstract

When teaching the discipline «Ukrainian language for professional direction», higher education students must master the necessary theoretical knowledge of Ukrainian orthoepy, learn the orthoepy norms of the Ukrainian language, and improve their orthoepy skills during oral professional communication. The problem of improving the orthoepic competence of future specialists is relevant, because a necessary condition for effective professional communication is the correct pronunciation of all sounds, sound combinations, and grammatical forms of words. The purpose of the article is to reveal the features of improving the orthoepic competence of higher education students during the teaching of the discipline «Ukrainian language for professional direction». Methods used in the work: analysis of scientific literature and pedagogical experience, synthesis. The results of the study demonstrated that in order to improve the orthoepic competence of higher education students, it is necessary to familiarize them with thorough theoretical knowledge of Ukrainian orthoepic, develop and apply exercises to improve the orthoepic skills of future specialists. It has been found that higher education students need to master the orthoepic norms of the Ukrainian language perfectly. After all, it is important for future specialists to master the necessary orthoepic skills and the skills of correct pronunciation of all sounds, sound combinations, and grammatical forms of words. It was determined that orthoepic competence is a necessary condition for oral professional communication. The practical significance of the study lies in the fact that a system of exercises has been developed that helps improve orthoepic skills in higher education students. Conclusions. To improve the orthoepic competence of higher education students, it is necessary to familiarize them with thorough theoretical knowledge of Ukrainian orthoepic, orthoepic norms of the Ukrainian language, the correct pronunciation of sounds, sound combinations, grammatical forms of words. It is necessary to develop in them the ability to correctly pronounce the terms of the chosen specialty. Successfully developed exercises play an important role in improving the orthoepic skills of oral professional communication among higher education students. Orthoepic competence of specialists is the key to their effective professional communication.
