Abstract

The purpose of the study was to analyze the main aspects of the successful integration of virtual and augmented reality technologies into the distance learning process. To achieve the goal, general scientific research methods were used, namely: analysis of scientific domestic and foreign sources, synthesis of the obtained data to form a general idea about the researched question, comparison of various aspects of technologies, generalization. The results indicate that the trend towards the introduction of immersive technologies in education has increased significantly in recent years, which is due to a number of advantages that they provide.Immersive technologies improve spatial understanding and memorization of educational material by learners, allowing them to experience learning from the first person and see everything that is happening around them. Analyzing the differences between VR and AR, it is worth noting that the technology of augmented reality can be considered the most suitable for wide application in the education system. This is due to the criteria of its accessibility (it is enough to have only a smartphone) and moderate influence on the perception and mental reactions of the students of education. However, virtual reality also plays an important role in improving the distance learning process through the possibility of immersive immersion in virtual scenarios and virtual experiments that allow learners to learn complex concepts and interact with the material in a completely new way. During the research, individual programs based on virtual and augmented reality technologies were characterized. These programs make it possible to organize the educational process even in an online format with visualization of the educational material, which clearly increases the quality of information perception by those seeking education. A number of principles have been defined, the observance of which is necessary for the successful integration of immersive technologies into the distance learning process. These included the selection of appropriate technologies, the creation of high-quality and interactive content, the provision of appropriate support for teachers and students, and progress tracking. The conclusions note that the use of virtual and augmented reality does not change the fact that teaching is the prerogative of teachers.. Technologies can only complement the learning process, but cannot completely replace the teacher. However, the integration of innovative technologies in education is still necessary to improve the quality of education, to develop personalized, effective and accessible educational materials.
