The article explores the concept of "formation of methodological culture" among teachers of legal disciplines in higher education institutions. The formation of methodological culture among university lecturers involves aligning the content of their professional training with the development of value orientations necessary for effective interactive pedagogical engagement, the establishment of professional self-determination, the pursuit of self-development, and the acquisition and integration of innovative pedagogical practices. It has been revealed that legal disciplines are often taught by specialists in law who lack pedagogical training. The most effective current solution to this issue is the implementation of a system of professional development. The primary objective of professional development courses for academic and teaching staff, conducted by the Educational and Scientific Institute "Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy" at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, is to update and modernize professional knowledge, cultivate business qualities, and enhance professional competencies in accordance with current educational legislation in Ukraine. Particular emphasis is placed on the introduction of innovative teaching approaches and the adaptation of modern educational technologies to the specific features of theoretical training in higher education. A key advantage of these courses lies in their integrated content, which enables participants to master contemporary teaching methodologies related to specific subject areas or individual disciplines, as well as fundamental psychological and pedagogical knowledge. Such courses contribute to the formation of a holistic pedagogical vision, the development of professional competencies, and the mastery of innovative approaches to teaching.
