One of the promising directions of using digital technologies in education is three-dimensional graphics and 3D-modeling. The article explores the possibilities of involving students of pedagogical institutions of higher education in 3D-modeling, and also conducts a comparative analysis of common 3D-graphics editors that can be used in the process of professional training of future teachers. It was established that 3D-modeling is one of the important tools for forming the life competencies of a modern teacher, because the development of models, their analysis, the search for alternative solutions in the process of modeling contributes to the development of the intellectual potential of the individual, forms the ability to reflect, gives the opportunity to highlight the main features and characteristics of object of knowledge. It was found that systematic work of students with 3D-editors contributes to the development of spatial imagination, creativity, non-stereotypic thinking, which are important components of the formation of professional competence of future teachers. It was found that the involvement of students in 3D-modeling is due to a number of urgent tasks in the context of reforming the domestic system of higher education, in particular, related to significant progress in the field of computing capabilities of digital technology, the growing popularity of three-dimensional printing technologies, and the expansion of the cognitive capabilities of 3D-graphics. A number of software tools (Blender, Daz Studio, Open SCAD, SketchUp Pro, Solidworks for Students, Tinkercad, Wings 3D) have been singled out, which can be successfully used to implement 3D-modeling tasks in the process of professional training of future teachers. In the course of a comparative analysis of software tools, it was found that they differ in terms of their functionality, difficulty of development, and scope of application. It is proven that the choice of a specific graphic editor should be made taking into account the goals of studying students of a certain specialty and their work experience in the field of 3D-modeling.
