The article provides a complex analysis of the reform of the profile high school in Ukraine in the context of creating a network of academic lyceums as a key institutional mechanism for implementing state educational policy. The regulatory and legal basics of the transformation of the system of complete general secondary education are revealed, as well as the theoretical approaches of scientists to the profiling of education and the individualization of educational trajectories of education seekers that are outlined.
The article presents the results of an empirical research conducted in 2025 among 11th grade students of secondary education institutions in the city of Kryvyi Rih, which made it possible to assess the first results of the implementation of the network of academic lyceums and the level of student satisfaction with the chosen profile.
Analysis of the results of the survey of Kryvyi Rih lyceums’ graduates revealed a number of systemic problematic aspects that require a management response, in particular: a significant proportion of students are applicants with incomplete or absent professional certainty (over 32%); there is a moderate level of confidence among graduates in the sufficiency of school knowledge for successful completion of the NMT-2025; high degree of students’ dependence on tutoring services, which indicates the need to strengthen in-school training; uneven indicators between individual lyceums regarding satisfaction with the profile of education and the quality of teaching; limited influence of pedagogical workers and administrations on the process of profile and professional self-determination of education seekers.
Management recommendations are substantiated for improving career guidance work, expanding the variability of study profiles, and strengthening in-school preparation for external assessment. The results of the research can be used by education management bodies and educational institutions during the formation and development of a network of academic lyceums.
