The modernization of physical culture through the integration of virtual reality (VR) represents a significant transformation in the methods of physical education and training. This transition is driven by the increasing accessibility and sophistication of virtual reality technologies, which provide an immersive and interactive environment that traditional methods cannot compete with. The relevance of this topic is underscored by the growing demand for innovative approaches to physical education, particularly in a world where digital technologies are reshaping almost every aspect of life. The purpose of this article is to explore the opportunities and challenges that virtual reality creates in the context of physical culture. Methods: analysis of scientific literature, systematization, generalization, comparison. The results of the study indicate that virtual reality has the potential to radically transform physical culture, as it provides tools that can adapt to the needs of individual users. This is particularly relevant for rehabilitation, where virtual reality can safely and controllably simulate real-life challenges, and for high-performance sports training, where it can recreate specific scenarios that are difficult to create in the real world. However, the implementation of virtual reality in physical culture is not without challenges. These include the high cost of VR equipment, the need for specialized knowledge to develop and implement VR programs, and the potential physical and psychological impact on users. Conclusions. Overall, while virtual reality offers numerous opportunities for the development of physical culture, its successful integration into training and education requires careful consideration of the associated challenges. Future research and development should focus on making VR technologies more accessible and user-friendly, as well as on studying the long-term effects of physical training using virtual reality. The modernization of physical culture through virtual reality holds great promise, but its full potential will only be realized through a balanced approach that takes into account both the opportunities and the challenges.Downloads
