The development of the theory and methodology of sports training requires studying the opportunities offered by innovative technologies. The aim of this paper is to analyze the main directions for implementing modern technologies into the practical activities of coaches and athletes. Methods: To achieve this goal, a review of scientific publications from 2020 to 2024 was conducted, focusing on the practical application of innovative technologies in sports. The search for scientific publications was carried out in reputable databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science, using keywords like 'innovative technologies', 'digital technologies', 'sports', and 'training'. Full-text practical and review articles highlighting the use of innovative and digital technologies in sports training were selected for analysis. Results: It has been established that the integration of innovative technologies into athlete training is a current area for improvement. It was found that the use of innovative technologies in athlete education and training improves training effectiveness, the quality of motor learning, the mobility of training activities, the control and monitoring of the training process, the flexibility of training programs, and the prediction of training outcomes. Conclusions: The implementation of innovative technologies is an important factor in the modernization of athlete preparation. Modern technologies are aimed at optimizing the training process, reducing injury risks, and individualising athlete preparation. Despite the recognised potential for innovations in sports, there is still a lack of research on their practical application, largely due to the complexity of their widespread adoption and the rapid emergence of new modifications, which affects the long-term assessment of their effectiveness across various sports. Overall, the findings of this study support the view that the integration of innovative technologies is a driving force for qualitative transformations in the athlete preparation process. Future research will focus on developing a comprehensive motor learning program for young athletes using digital technologies.
