Abstract

The article analyzes the features of textbook creation in the current stage of educational development, emphasizing the need for innovative Ukrainian language textbooks that meet a range of criteria. The necessity of studying the specific approaches to textbook creation by Ivan Yushchuk is substantiated, as it is considered a key aspect in researching Ukrainian language education. The research methods of the article include the analysis of contemporary requirements for Ukrainian language textbooks, as outlined in the State Standard and model educational programs. A comparative method is used to evaluate textbooks based on criteria such as systematization, scientific accuracy, and motivational components. Additionally, an expert review and analysis of I. Yushchuk’s textbooks were employed to explore their innovative aspects and didactic advantages.

It is emphasized that despite Ivan Yushchuk’s significant contributions to the development of Ukrainian linguodidactics, his innovative approaches remain under-researched by contemporary scholars, and the uniqueness and depth of his pedagogical legacy in the context of textbook creation require proper recognition and revitalization.

Based on the analysis of Ukrainian language textbooks, the innovative approaches to textbook creation are identified: the use of the inductive method, active student involvement through collaboration with texts and dialogue with the author, which fosters an atmosphere of partnership, a variety of exercises that include creative tasks and problem-solving situations, the integration of interdisciplinary elements, and attention to the cultural-educational component through national-patriotic texts that nurture a love for the Ukrainian language and culture. It is noted that the foundation of I. Yushchuk's innovation lies in his profound understanding of the nature of the Ukrainian language, which enables him to combine traditional approaches with innovative methodologies, making his textbooks distinguished by their scientific accuracy, methodical clarity, systematic approach, and engagement in interaction.

The works of the scholar that reveal his innovative approaches to the content of Ukrainian language textbooks and are available on I. Yushchuk’s personal website are presented.
